отправной инстанции берем <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4112e191" xml:id="mentioned_d4112e144" xml:lang="ka"><lang/>

ожидаем закономерно *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">čxiǯi</hi>- или *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">čxinǯi</hi>.

действительно и находим в абхазском: <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4112e199" xml:id="mentioned_d4112e152" xml:lang="ab"><lang/>

<ref type="xr" target="#entry_gærtam"/>,
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">kæbæda</hi>), во-вторых, субституции <hi rendition="#rend_italic">g</hi> вместо <hi rendition="#rend_italic">č</hi> и <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ʒ</hi> вместо ǯ и,
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_gælir"/>).

<etym xml:lang="en">The word refers to a group of words of substratum origin, which
can be united by a common name “Mingrelianism”. By the name “Mingrelianism” in
the Ossetic language we understand such words that do not look like Georgian
ones despite the fact that they refer to the vocabulary of Kartvelian languages.
These words have the appearance of languages of Mingrelian-Laz (Zan) branch with
which Ossetic people now do not come into contact. Let us take <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4112e144" xml:id="mentioned_d4112e191" xml:lang="ka"><lang/>
<w>čxiri</w>
<gloss><q>stick</q></gloss></mentioned> as a starting point. Due to
<hi rendition="#rend_bold">Mingrelian-Laz</hi> connections we expect regular *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">čxiǯi</hi>- or *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">čxinǯi</hi>. In
fact we do find the last form in Abkhaz: <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4112e152" xml:id="mentioned_d4112e199" xml:lang="ab"><lang/>
<w>čxənǯ</w>
<gloss><q>stick for hanging a kettle</q></gloss></mentioned>. Firstly, in
Ossetic we expect full vocalism and especially the appearance of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æ</hi> between
two consonants (see <ref type="xr" target="#entry_gærtam"/>, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kæbæda</hi>).
Secondly, we expect the substitution of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">g</hi> instead of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">č</hi> and <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ʒ</hi> instead
of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ǯ</hi> and, thirdly, a probable substitution of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">g</hi> instead of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">x</hi> (cf.
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_gælir"/>). In short, we naturally come to the
form <hi rendition="#rend_italic">cæginʒ</hi>-, which is really found in Ossetic. From the semantic point of
view, the proposed clarification also cannot raise objections. — The following
words are close to the Ossetic one: <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4112e164" xml:id="mentioned_d4112e211" xml:lang="krc-x-balkar" extralang="krc-x-karachay"><lang/>
