Frequent findings of combs, often of the highly artistic work, in Scythian and Sarmatian
burials allow to speak about great antiquity of the term. As for Scythian times, it is
enough to mention the golden comb from Solokha burial mound (<bibl xml:lang="en"><author>Grakov</author>. <title>Skify</title> [The Scythians].
