<w>šikār</w>
<gloss><q>охота</q></gloss></mentioned>.
1. <oRef>skaryn: skærst</oRef>
<q>искать</q>, 2. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_skʼæryn"><w>skʼæryn</w> : <w>skʼærd</w>
<mentioned xml:lang="os"><lang>Ос.</lang>

to <mentioned xml:lang="fa"><lang/>
<w>šikār</w>
<gloss><q>hunting</q></gloss></mentioned>. However, there are two different verbs in
Ossetic: 1. <oRef>skaryn: skærst</oRef>
<q>search</q>, 2. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_skʼæryn"><w>skʼæryn</w> : <w>skʼærd</w>
<q>chase</q></ref>. They differ in both the vocalization step and the second consonant
(<c>k</c> || <c>kʼ</c>), as well as past participle form (<oRef>skærst</oRef> || <ref type="xr" target="#entry_skʼæryn"><w>skʼærd</w></ref>). Of course, it can be assumed
that these differences appeared in Ossetic and it is necessary to proceed from a single
(hunting) term <w type="rec">skar-</w>, in which semantics both concepts were hidden:
<q>search</q>, <q>explore</q> (wild game) and <q>chase</q>, <q>pursue</q> (it). We
prefer, however, to separate these two bases. <mentioned xml:lang="os"><lang/>
