texts, there were attested cases when <ref type="xr" target="#entry_7xsar_1"><w>xsar</w></ref> itself (without <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kard"/>) already means
<q>saber</q>, <q>sword</q>: <phr>æxsar-ælvæstæj</phr>
<gloss><q rendition="#rend_doublequotes">with pulled-out (exposed) saber</q></gloss>. In
this regard, it is worth remembering that <mentioned xml:lang="ae"><w>Xšaθra</w></mentioned>, as a deity, is considered the patron of metals in the
