Ossetic, indicates the antiquity and importance of proso millet in Ossetia. In
the Sarmatian era “millet was widespread, which was one of the important
foodstuffs of Meoto-Sarmatian tribes” (<bibl><author>N.
Anfimov.</author><biblScope>Drevnie poselenija Prikuban'ja [Ancient
