джигитовки. Роль конских ристаний в аланском быту ярко выступает также в

||||
нартовском эпосе, где <hi rendition="#rend_italic">dūǧwat</hi> или <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d263e122" xml:id="mentioned_d263e98" xml:lang="os"><lang/>

equestrian arena was an obligatory accessory to every large Alan settlement. In

||||
the territory that was inhabited by the Alans in past times, many areas are
|
||||
still called <hi rendition="#rend_italic">Doǧwat</hi>. Among these, we personally know the tract <hi rendition="#rend_italic">Doǧtwat</hi>
|
||||
in the mountain Kabarda, which is a large flat field, quite suitable for horse
|
||||
riding. The role of horse races in Alan life is also vividly shown in the Nart
|
||||
