первой части можно видеть как <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fæs-"/> ‘позади’,
так и <hi rendition="#rend_italic">færs</hi> (из <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fars"/>) ‘сторона’ с утратой
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">r</hi>. Однако по смыслу больше подходит последнее („в стороне от следа“, а не
„позади следа“). Это же <hi rendition="#rend_italic">færs</hi>, упрощенное в <hi rendition="#rend_italic">fæs</hi>, мы видим в <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fæsgojmag"/>.</etym>

‘trace’. In the first part there is either <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fæs-"/>
‘behind’, or <hi rendition="#rend_italic">færs</hi> (from <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fars"/>) ‘side’ with
the <hi rendition="#rend_italic">r</hi> drop. However, in terms of meaning, the latter is more suitable ("away
from the track", and not "behind the track"). The same <hi rendition="#rend_italic">færs</hi>, simplified as
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">fæs</hi>, is in <ref type="xr" target="#entry_fæsgojmag"/>.</etym>
