касается <c>xīl-</c>, то сближение с <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xīlyn"><w>xīlyn</w>
<gloss><q>ползти</q></gloss></ref> не очень соблазняет в силу видимой несовместимости
значений. Может быть, объединяющим является понятие слабого, немощного движения.</etym>
<etym xml:lang="en">There is no reliable etymology. It is only certain that <c>ny-</c> is a
preverb. As for <c>xīl-</c>, the rapprochement with <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xīlyn"><w>xīlyn</w>
<gloss><q>crawl</q></gloss></ref> is not very tempting due to the apparent
incompatibility of meanings. Maybe the unifying concept is a weak, feeble movement.</etym>
