It traces back to *duš-, dauš- arm, shoulder; cf. dōš shoulder, dōš, dušä sleeve, daoš- forearm, shoulder, doṣ- arm, forearm, dus (VII 90) arm. Also here duxa in pazuxa. The transition of the meaning ‘part of the body’ → ‘part of the clothes’ is regular; cf. *‘loins’ → ‘belt’, dumæg ‘tail’ → ‘flap’ [см. ].%n31.
