In the first part there is | fud ‘evil’, in the second part there is iblīs Satan, devil, also used independently in Ossetic. In the above mentioned epithet of Nart Sirdon Narty fydbylyz “evil genius of the Narts” and in the translation of the Gospel (11 4) there is also the meaning ‘demon’, ‘evil genius’.
