Первая часть, g˳yl, не имеет отношения к ‘пирог’; ее следует сближать с элементом kur, kul, gul (см. ) в названиях телесных недостатков: ‘короткошейный’, ‘безрукий’, ‘хромой’, ‘глухой’, д. ‘безрогий’ и др. Для д. kʼwæl- ср. еще д. ‘мозоль’, ‘волдырь’. In the second part of the word there is () ‘tongue’. The first part, g˳yl, is not related to ‘pie’; it should rather be connected to the element kur, kul, gul (see ) in the infirmity names: ‘shortnecked’, ‘armless’, ‘limp’, ‘deaf’, Digor ‘hornless’ etc. For Digor kʼwæl- cf. also Digor ‘callosity’, ‘blister’.
