К слову гурда автор дает примечание: „Шашки и кинжалы, дороже всего ценимые на Кавказе, называются по мастеру — Гурда“. Возможно, есть связь с gurd герой. Cf. gorda (xmali) ancient saber (). It is mentioned by L. Tolstoy (L. Tolstoy.The Cossacks. M., 1953, p. 58): „Whose was the finest horse? Who had a Gurda sword…?… Why, always Eroshka!“. The author footnotes the word гурда: „Sabres and daggers, most valued in the Caucasus, are called according to the master — Gurda“. It might be relation to gurd hero.
