С формантом -ti- (mṇ-ti-) ср. mati мысль, забота, дума, maiti- в anu-maiti- id., menti- в pa-mętь, память, mintìs мысль, mens, mentis мысль, рассудок. Отношение формантов в ma-θa- (ос. ) и ma-ti такое же, как в či-θa- ( cytcitæ) и či-ti-, τίσις. — Пам. ш. màt trouble, toil (Shaw. On the Shigni Dialect. JASB 1877, стр. 111, 125) относится, возможно, не сюда, а к manθ- смешивать и пр. Goes back to maθa- from mṇ-tho-, from the widespread root man-, men- think, remember etc. ( 726— 728); this root is also recognizable in some other Ossetic words: , mondag a wish, amonyn instruct. The suffix -θa- (ma-θa-) is the same as in cytcitæ respect from či-θa- etc. With the suffix -ti- (mṇ-ti-) cf. mati thought, concern, maiti- in anu-maiti- id., menti- in pa-mętь, pamjatʼ memory, mintìs thought, mens, mentis thought, mind. The relationship of the suffixes in ma-θa- (Ossetic ) and ma-ti is the same as in či-θa- ( cytcitæ) and či-ti-, τίσις. — màt trouble, toil (Shaw. On the Shigni Dialect. JASB 1877, pp. 111, 125) is possibly unrelated, but rather belongs to manθ- mix etc.
