The names of birds often mean feathered or winged ( 183). It is possible therefore that saisu- as a bird name means feathered and assumes saisa- feather, as well as gaesu- curly assumes gaesa- curls, hair. Therefore, saisa- → Ossetic | ses. Further information is unclear. If the semantic core is the concept of something pointed, then it could be connected with śā-, śiśā- sharpen, saeni- pointed, point, edge, yssyn sharpen. (130) brought colser with zīzā plumae.
