Ср. δntk...mrγy ptsʼγtk ровно посаженные зубы (Benveniste, 1933, стр. 38) = ос. æmx˳yzon saǧd dændægtæ. Что касается древнеиранской и индоевропейской перспективы, то тут нет полной ясности. Возможна связь с sač закреплять в памяти (ср. ос. īw q˳ydy mæ særy nyssaǧdī одна мысль засела мне в голову).Вс. Миллер ( II 80—81) привлекает другой авестийский глагол — sač- идти, подобать, — но добавляет: ...вопрос, насколько примиримы аначения осетинск. и авест. глагола и насколько твердо установлены оба значения авестийского. Старым иранским заимствованием является saxtʼ- в выражении saxtʼad darča он остолбенел (Русско-груз. сл. Тбилиси, 1937, стр. 594), буквально остался saxtʼ = saǧdæj bazzadī он остолбенел. Для семантического перехода строить → сажать деревья ср. хотя бы bauen строить, сажать деревья, разводить растения. На развитие значения втыкать, вонзать могла повлиять контаминация с sanǰ- втыкать, вонзать. — Активный глагол имеет медиальное соответствие с обычной характеристикой — ослаблением гласного корня: вонзаться, застревать, вязнуть, q. v. The meanings build, establish, appoint preserved in Digor lets one bring the Ossetic word together with the group of New Iranian and Middle Iranian facts: sāxtan: sāz- build, construct, fit, adjust, säxtan: sāč- id., sāž, ni-sāž- make, pa-sāž- arrange ( 68) , sāč (sʼč-) behove, befit, an-sāč-: an-saxt- (’nsʼč :’nsʼγt) put, set, pat-sāč- : pat-sāxt- (ptsʼč-: ptsʼγt) attach, adjust, decorate.Cf. δntk...mrγy ptsʼγtk evenly set teeth (Benveniste, 1933, p. 38) = Ossetic æmx˳yzon saǧd dændægtæ.As for Old Iranian and Indo-European perspective, it is not entirely clear. The connection with sač memorize (cf. Ossetic īw q˳ydy mæ særy nyssaǧdī one thought has stuck in my head).Ws. Miller ( II 80—81) attracts the other Avestan verb — sač- be suitable, befit, — but he also adds: ...it is a question to what extent the meanings of the Ossetic and the Avestan verb are comparable, and how good are both meanings of the Avestan verb set.The early borrowing from Ossetic is saxtʼ- in the expression saxtʼad darča he was pertified (Russko-gruzinskij slovarʼ [Russian-Georgian dictionary]. Tbilisi, 1937, p. 594), it is literally remained saxtʼ = saǧdæj bazzadī he was petrified. For the semantic shift build → plant trees cf. at least bauen build, plant trees, breed plants. The development of the meaning thrust, stab could be affected by the blend with sanǰ- stick, stab. — The active verb has a middle voice correspondence with a usual weakening of a root vowel: stick into, get stuck, bog down, q. v.
