Имеется в виду процесс волочения тяжести человеком, причем веревка для волочения бывает перекинута через плечо; стало быть, syfcæj lasyn буквально тащить плечом. Ср. suft, sift, suft, sivd, sivδ, sevd, sәvd, sәvda, suvd, suvdo, suti-, supti-, śupti- плечо. За пределами индоиранского ср. Schuft лопатка коровы или лошади, sup плечо ( 627). — sufti- плечо удержалось в осетинском только в выражениях syfcæj lasyn и т. п. Обычное название плеча — wæxsk usqæ, q. v. Regularly goes back to sufti- shoulder (c ← ti, like in , , , etc). This refers to the process of dragging heavy things by a person, and the rope for dragging is thrown over the shoulder; hence, syfcæj lasyn is literally to drag with oneʼs shoulder. Cf. suft, sift, suft, sivd, sivδ, sevd, sәvd, sәvda, suvd, suvdo, suti-, supti-, śupti- shoulder. Beyond Indo-Iranian, cf. Schuft shoulder blade of cow or horse, sup shoulder ( 627). — sufti- shoulder was retained in Ossetian only in expressions syfcæj lasyn etc. The common name for shoulder is wæxsk usqæ, q. v.
