Не исключена, однако, контаминация кавказского слова с иранским; ср., с одной стороны, θang- (δnk-, мн. ч. δnkth) жила ( 172287, 252), с другой — ṣṣamgila, ṣ̌əngər кишки. In native Iranian words, a before nasals turns into o; cf. , , tong, etc. The preservation of a before n, as well as glottal occlusive tʼ indicate borrowing. Cf. damaǧa rectum (damaga → damga → tʼang). The relation to tan-, teng-, tęgnǫti pull (Bailey, 1963 XXVI 83; Studi in onore di V. Pisani. Brescia, p. 96, 19) is unlikely due to the abovementioned facts. However, the contamination of the Caucasian word with the Iranian is not excluded.; cf., on the one hand, θang- (δnk-, plural δnkth) vein ( 172287, 252), and on the other hand ṣṣamgila, ṣ̌əngər intestines.
