От нескольких имен в осетинском можно образовать звательную форму на -aj. Neben dem Vocativ, dessen Form mit den Nom. zusammengefallen, wird im O. oss. ein neugebildeter Vocativ auf -ai gebraucht, z. B. o. oss. či˳zgái o, Mädchen, ūsái o, Weib, lägái o, Mann. Dieses -ai, eine postpositive Interjection (?), erinnert an das ā des Rufes im Np.: dōst-ā o Freund!, xudāy-ā o Herr! ( 47). Ос. напоминает звательную форму от xaedæg сам и, стало быть, представляет обращенный к самому себе возглас человека, который вспомнил что-то, что нужно сказать (?). Есть ли аналогии в других языках? Several nouns in Ossetic have a vocative form in -aj. Neben dem Vocativ, dessen Form mit den Nom. zusammengefallen, wird im O. oss. ein neugebildeter Vocativ auf -ai gebraucht, z. B. o. oss. či˳zgái o, Mädchen, ūsái o, Weib, lägái o, Mann. Dieses -ai, eine postpositive Interjection (?), erinnert an das ā des Rufes im Np.: dōst-ā o Freund!, xudāy-ā o Herr! ( 47). Ossetic looks like the vocative form from xaedæg self and is, therefore, a self-directed exclamation of a person who remember something he needs to say (?). Have similar developments occurred in other languages?
