In Ossetian and other Iranian languages, the word is usually presented with a prothetic x- (h-): xām, xom (this form is also assimilated into a number of the Pamir Iranian languages), xum, xav, hāmag, āmag, hāmö, ōm, ūm, xum, yüng, ying, xam- (γ’m-), hama-, āma-, om, ὠμός raw ( 477 —478. — Meillet.
