For the formant cf. um-ša dough ( 141). If we start from the root kī- with the variants kay-, kā-, then we can also includ here kāmah, kāmak a kind of porridge ( 48. — 1231). The etymology is unclear. — The alternation of the initial k- || х- — as in kʼæʒ || xæʒ, kæræf || xælæf. Formally, Digor kʼinsæ exactly corresponds ḱʼyssæ child dough things ( 654).
