В последнем случае ср. ʼngwdn: ʼngw завершать, кончать (Henning, IX 80). Compound from æm-gud (← ham-guta-), from ǧæw- (gav-) to be needed. Cf. ǧud ( q˳ydy) intention, care, decision, though; literally joint intention, plan → term. Compare ɣuda term. See q˳ydyǧud(i), and . For derivation and meaning, cf. also anɣaw- (ʼnɣʼw) haste ( 91129). Ws. Miller believes otherwise: he traces it back to gu- go, which is found in īvǧ˳yjyn to pass ( 21, p. 329). In the latter case cf. ʼngwdn: ʼngw to complete, to finish (Henning, IX 80).
