Из этимологических соответствий на иранской почве можно указать haṃbar- to compose, to constitute ( 139) и более близкое по значению b(u)vāre они понимают ( VII 8, 13); с другим превербом niβēr- (nβyr-, nβʼyr-) обсуждать ( § 676).Ws. Miller. Gr. 59. A fusion of the preverb æm- (← ham-) with the stem bar-. In the latter one can discern the common Indo-European stem bher- to take, to carry etc., which we also assume in baryn to weigh, æværyn to put and some others. If this is so, then the structure and the semantics of Ossetic æmbaryn is close to comprendre, comprehendere to understand (from prendre, prehendere to take, to seize); cf. also ponimatʼ to understand, identical to pojmatʼ to catch. Among etymological correspondences within Iranian, one can indicate haṃbar- to compose, to constitute ( 139) and the semantically more similar b(u)vāre they understand ( VII 8, 13); with a different preverb, niβēr- (nβyr-, nβʼyr-) обсуждать ( § 676).Ws.
