This is a variant form to ændaʒyn (← ham-tač-) to be attached; cf. also the same vowel alternation in arynerun, axadynaxedun, kalynæzgelun, alongside ᵆlǧīvynælqevun, cf. also ændewun (from ham-tav-?); cf. andez- : andūīd-, indiz- to stand up, to get up. The main meaning (to recover) may be viewed as transitional to the Pamir one, which has deviated too far from Old Iranian (cf.: Morgenstierne I 46).
