PUT NOTE HERE Ср. kūtk мякина (= „хлебная пыль“) (MorgenstierneIIFL II 13). Может быть, сюда же xutanna мельница (из *xutarna = „мукомолка“). Ærtxūtæg, стало быть, — „пыль огня“. Из осетинского усвоено urxoduk искры, ‘пепел’ (примыкает к ærxotuǵ). There is ‘fire’ (with vowel weakeing) in the first part. In the second part there is *xūtæg | *xotæg, which is not in use in modern language. The latter traces back to *kauta-ka and meaned apparently ‘dust’, ‘flour’ and so on. PUT NOTE HERE Compare kūtk chaff (= „bread dust“) (MorgenstierneIIFL II 13). Probably, xutanna mill (from *xutarna = „flour-mill“) also belongs here. Hence, Ærtxūtæg is "fire-dust". The word was borrowed from Ossetic in urxoduk sparkles, ‘ashes’ (close to ærxotuǵ). Сл. дает, со ссылкой на Gaguʒ(Rajdajæn činyg 78)%b, xatæg хлопья. Нам не встречалось. gives xatæg flakeswith a reference to Gaguʒ(Rajdajæn činyg 78)%b. We have not come across this word.
