Остальные привлекаемые Bailey слова ( āfənt-, phan-, patouhan) семантически плохо вяжутся с . afon period and afæʒ year are two derivatives of the same root āp- reach (see ); ← āpana; ← apati-; derivational relations are the same as in ← vidāna-, ← vidātī-. Both words are based on the concept of achievement, completion, ending; hence, on the one hand, afæʒ year as the end of the astronomical and economic cycle, on the other hand, as due time, time period; for the latter word, cf. āpāna- achievement, conclusion, end, āpāna- achieving one's goal. Germanic words for the notion evening also probably belong here: æfen, āband, Abend. Frejman (Xorezm. jazyk [Khwarezmian language] 67) and Вaileу ( 1956, p. 120) also cite ūfāniya at that date. Other words that Bailey mentions ( āfənt-, phan-, patouhan) semantically do not match with .
