From aqazaǧaz help, use and the adjectivizer -ag, with the insertion of j before z in Digor and the regular doubling of z in Iron (cf. Iron bazzajyn — Digor bajzajun remain). Could the semantic shift help → excellent have been influenced by contamination with Arabic word aḫaṣṣ (اخصّ) special, excellent, exceptional?
