Связать слово с глаголом ‘рассекать’, тоже близким по значению, препятствует то, что суффикс -yg I -ug не используется для отглагольных образований. Apparently, it is derived from ‘foot’, and the meaning ‘trouser leg’ is primary. The connection to the verb ‘dissect’, which is also close to it in the meaning, is not possible, since the suffix -yg I -ug cannot be used for deverbal derivatives.
