Сюда же мы относим этноним mæq(q)æl ингуши, q. v. — Дальнейшие связи переносят нас, как и в ряде других случаев, с юга на далекий север, к угорским языкам: makla порода ястреба, machwlä, bagoly сова. Cf. maqqæl, meqqæl name of a predatory bird (kite?). The same root should be seen in the ethnonym mæq(q)æl Ingush people, q. v. — Further connections bring us, like in a number of other cases, from the south to the far north, to the Ugric languages: makla a breed of hawk, machwlä, bagoly owl.
