Outside the Iranian languages, the following words attract attention: rudda, rēada, read abomasum. — From Iranian (Alan or Persian) there are rud, rud, rud, rad, rad intestine. — Wikander (Vayu. Uppsala—Leipzig, 1941, p. 56–57) believes that the consonance in rauta- intestine ( rūda, rōt) and rauta-river ( rōd, rōt) not accidental; the binding is the idea of something flowing in convolutions. As a semantic parallel Wikander gives guda- intestine — Guδa- river name.
