Cf. ruxš glow (n.), shine (n.), ruxšīdan glow (v.), shine (v.), rūšan light (adj.), rōšan, rōšnāk, ravšan light (adj.), rūšnōī, rūšnāī light (n.), ruš light (adj.), ruṇ fire, rūṇ (from rauxšna-) shining, bright, sparkly ( 63), rux light, sunrise, rəṣ̌ni, ṣ̌nāī, rexnig fire, ruxn white, raxšin sunrise, dawn, rōxšn (rγwšn-, rwxṣn-) light, effulgent, Roxš (Rwγš) proper name ( I 217), rošn light (adj.), rrus- shine (v.), rrusana- shining, parrusa- shine (v.), rrūnattāti shine (n.), raoxšna- light, shining, rukṣa- (hapax) shining (?), lauxnos stars (= lauksnos = rauxšna-), liehsen light (adj.), λύχνος (luksnos) lamp, lois light (n.), lucanem I light up, lux shine (n.), lūna (from louksnā-) moon etc. ( 687–690). — The name of the Sarmatian tribe ʽΡοξολανοι, Roxolani, literally means Light alans. — Lost in Ossetic final -n (one would expect rūxšn) preserved under the suffix -æg in roxsnæg ruddy and in the toponym Rūxsnæg, cf. ʽΡωξανακη the name of the capital of the Saks (Ctesias, cited from Nikolai Damaskin), and also Rūšōn Rushon name of a district in the Pamir region.
