Digor særbaræ freedom, free is the same compound, but without a linking vowel. These components may be used in expanded from: sæ sær sæ bar næ wydīs they weren't free (their head was not in their power) 12; max bar nal ysty næ særtæ we are not free anymore (our heads are not in our power) 17. As for the derivaton, cf. tavisupali free, literally owner (upali) of the head (tavis); ṡẖäxuit free from ṡẖä head and xuit free. In these compounds head functions as a reflexive-posessive pronoun him-/herself, his/her: left to the own will, free over oneself .
