См. . 157, 185, 199, 233. Probably goes back to aspa-uɣra powerful horse, cf. aspa- (= jæfsæfsæ) horse and uɣra-, ugrá- powerful. The old form of the Ossetic æfsūrǧ can be found in Ἄσπουργος, the proper name of the founder of the dynasty of Bosporan kings (1st century AD), as well as Ἀσπσύργιοι, the name of a Sarmatian tribe.
