Образование вполне аналогично русскому под мышкой. Ср. также mušák мышца на плечевой кости. Если правильно наше толкование, то в dæl-mus-ti сохранилась более старая форма слова ‘мышь’ (mus); ср. обычное | mistæ ‘мышь’. From + mus-ti, where mus-ti- is plural inessive case form of the word *mus ‘mouse’ → ‘muscle’. The derivative is quite similar to the Russian pod myškoj. Cf. also mušák muscle on the shoulder bone. If our interpretation is correct then in dæl-mus-ti a more old form of the word ‘mouse’ (mus) remains; cf. regular | mistæ ‘mouse’.
