В отличие от приведенных глагольных пар, где непереходные основы отличаются от переходных помимо появления s еще и разной (слабой и сильной) ступенью огласовки, в и dymsyn огласовка одинаковая — слабая. Объясняется это тем, вероятно, что здесь гласный у | u является перерождением æ (см. ) и, стало быть, для чередования u | ο вообще не было места.%n63. — 7 61. — 27. — 574. A middle voice to the verb ‘blow’, with an inchoative -s, like in some other cases ( ‘warm’ || ‘warm oneself’, ‘wrap’ || ‘enwrap’ etc., see 574). Cf. δm's- blow up, pedəmeš blow up. In contrast to the given verb pairs, where intransitive stems differ from transitive stems by different (weak and strong) steps of vocalization (apart from s), in and dymsyn the vocalization is identical — weak. This is explained by the fact that the vowel у | u is a new version of æ (see ) and thus there was no place for the alternation u | ο.%n63. — 7 61. — 27. — 574.
