This word is borrowed from Mongolian and Turkic: saγadagbow with arrows, quiver ( 316 ff. — I 336 — 340), saγdag, saadaq, sadaq bow with all the accessories, bow and its case, quiver, leather bag in which a bow and arrows are put, quiver with a section for arrows (the meaning varies among the dialects) ( IV 279, 383. — Dmitrijev. Stroj tjurkskix jazykov [The grammatical system of Turkic languages]. Moscow, 1962, p. 542). sagadakъ, saadak, sagajdak, sajdak quiver with arrows, bow case (II 565, 566, 569) are derived from this word.In early times this word was used for all the set: a bow with a bow case and a quiver with arrows (). Cf. also the cognates from the other Caucasian languages: saγandaq crossbow( 314), šʼand˳aq bow ( 329. — 188), saγajdaq, saγəndaq bow and arrows, saγəndaqcrossbow, arbalest. In Ossetic this word is excessive because all the objects associated with a bow have their own old names inherited from Old Iranian: | bow, bow case, arrow, fatdonquiver. That's why saǧadaq didn't come into common use. It is used only in the societies that were highly influenced by Mongolian and Turkic. II 116; 9.
