xomys
название кушанья name of a dish . Комок липкого теста, предварительно мятый, идет в пищу под названием хомыс ( 13). В басне Bulk’æmæ myd (Редька и мед) (80) называет xomys в числе тех простых, скромных кушаний, которые никак не могут равнять себя с такими престижными блюдами, как fīzonæg шашлык и xæbīzǵyn пирог со свежим сыром . In fable Bulk’æmæ myd (Radish and honey) (80) lists xomys among those simple, modest dishes that can in no way equate themselves with such prestigious dishes as fīzonæg kebab and xæbīzǵyn fresh cheese pie Производное от xom сырой с помощью форманта -ys (-iša- или -uša). Этот формант распознается также в словах ( 655), ( 399). Этимологически и по значению сближается с yūmǰ мука из āmači- от āma- сырой. По поводу ваханского слова Morgenstierne ( II 554) замечает: It would be quite natural in the Pamir valleys to designate the ordinary flour as a raw one in order to distinguish it from the widely used parched meal. Derived from xom raw using the formant -ys (-iša- or -uša). This formant is also recognized in words ( 655), ( 399). Etymologically and semantically, it is brought together with yūmǰ flour from āmači- from āma- raw. Morgenstierne ( II 554) notes on the Wakhan word: It would be quite natural in the Pamir valleys to designate the ordinary flour as a raw one in order to distinguish it from the widely used parched meal. These words also clarify the ideosemantics of Ossetic xomys. One should also mentioned hāmai barley flour (), and also (with a different meaning) xāmīč, xamīč, amič raw meat in vinegar ( 96).
