Урузмаг рисуется в сказаниях как старший из второго, наиболее прославленного поколения
Нартов. Его, как и его супругу, отличают щедрость и хлебосольство. Он рассудителен,
выдержан, находчив в трудную минуту. Эпизод <title><q rendition="#rend_doublequotes">Урузмаг и кривой великан</q></title> в точности соответствует гомеровскому рассказу
об Одиссее и циклопе Полифеме.</def>
<def xml:lang="en">name of the one of the most popular heroes of the Ossetian heroic sagas
about Narts, he is Satana's brother and husband. This name is common also in the modern
anthroponymy of Ossetians. Wyryzmæg is depicted in tales as the oldest of the second,
most glorified generation of Narts. He, as well as his wife, is distinguished by
generosity and hospitality. He is reasonable, well-conditioned, inventive in a difficult
moment. The episode <title><q rendition="#rend_doublequotes">Wyryzmæg and the one-eyed
giant</q></title> corresponds exactly to the tale of Homer about Odysseys and the
Cyclops Polyphemus</def>
