Приводимая <hi rendition="#rend_smallcaps">Цецом</hi> форма приветствия <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ta ban xas</hi> весьма близка к
современной осетинской <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5218e672" xml:id="mentioned_d5218e466" xml:lang="os"><lang/>
<w>dæ bon xorz</w></mentioned> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">dæ bon xwarz</hi>. Огласовка <hi rendition="#rend_italic">а</hi> в
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ban(παν)</hi> совершенно закономерна для XII в. Осетинские заимствования в
балкарском и карачаевском, относящиеся к более поздней эпохе, дают еще <hi rendition="#rend_italic">а</hi>

modern Ossetic <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5218e466" xml:id="mentioned_d5218e672" xml:lang="os"><lang/>
<w>dæ bon xorz</w></mentioned> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">dæ bon xwarz</hi>. The vowel <hi rendition="#rend_italic">а</hi> in
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ban(παν)</hi> is completely regular for XII century. Ossetic borrowings in
Karachay and Balkar dated to a later period give also <hi rendition="#rend_italic">а</hi> before nasals:
