<etym xml:lang="en">It is a Proto-Indo-European word, as well as other general

Ossetic form is traced to Old Iranian *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">yakar-</hi>, Indo-European *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">yek''r-</hi>.
