old. A form <oRef>kʼærnyx</oRef> | <hi rendition="#rend_italic">-nix</hi> might have emerged as a result of
contamination with <ref type="xr" target="#entry_nyx_1"/> | <w>nix</w> claw. —
There is no reliable etymology. It may be from <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d349e226" xml:id="mentioned_d349e269" xml:lang="trk"><lang/>
