||
accessory of a <oRef>khadzar</oRef> was a hearth (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_artʒæst"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kʼona"/>) with an

unquenchable fire and a chain descending above it (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_ræxys"/>). In the depth of the <emph>khadzar</emph> behind the
|
||
hearth stood a <mentioned xml:lang="os"><gloss>carved wooden chair</gloss>
|
||
(<phr>k’ælætǵyn bandon</phr>)</mentioned> for the eldest man in the house.
|
||
Household utensils included low tripod tables (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_fyng"/>), bed (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_syntæg"/>), wooden buckets, tubs, etc. A
|
||
pantry (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_kʼæbic"><w>k’æbīc</w></ref>) adjoined the
|
||
<oRef>khadzar</oRef>. There, the eldest housewife (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_æfsīn"/>) had sole charge of it. There was a special room for the
|
||
young (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_wat"/>), and a kunatskaya (<ref type="xr" target="#entry_wazægdon"/>) for the guests. (For more information, see:
