*<hi rendition="#rend_italic">xærzgul</hi>) и др. — Названия других постельных принадлежностей, по-видимому,

phonecti history of the Ossetic word is clear: <hi rendition="#rend_italic">r</hi> became <hi rendition="#rend_italic">l</hi> near <hi rendition="#rend_italic">i</hi> and
then got lost: *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">barzi</hi>→*<hi rendition="#rend_italic">balz</hi><hi rendition="#rend_italic">baz</hi>. Cf. the analogous loss of the
glide in the following words: <ref type="xr" target="#entry_x0ymgærdæn"/>
better (from *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">xwyrzdær</hi>, *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">xwylzdæt</hi>ʼ), <ref type="xr" target="#entry_xæzgūl"/> mistress (from *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">xærzgul</hi>) etc. — Names of
other bedding seem to be not so old, cf. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_goban"/>
