<gloss><q>shave</q></gloss>. Mountain people of the Caucasus, including Ossetians, usually
shaved their heads (because of it, there was the nickname <q rendition="#rend_doublequotes"><mentioned xml:lang="ru"><w>gololobye</w></mentioned></q>
(<gloss><q>with bald foreheads</q></gloss>) = mountain people in the [Russian]
soldiers' jargon at the time of the Caucasion wars). That's why <ref type="xr" target="#entry_sær"/>
<gloss><q>head</q></gloss> was fixed to the name of a razor. As for derivation, cf. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_særvasæn"/>
