Флор и Лавр считались, как известно, покровителями домашнего скота. Неверно

In this case, as in some other cases (see <ref type="xr" target="#entry_Wastyrǵi"/>) the name of the Christian saints was transferred
to the old pagan deity. Saints Florus and Laurus were considered, as it is
known, the patrons of livestock. The connection of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">Fælværa</hi> with <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d1489e171" xml:id="mentioned_d1489e213" xml:lang="pal"><lang/>
<w>fravahr</w></mentioned>, <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d1489e176" xml:id="mentioned_d1489e218" xml:lang="x-oldirn"><lang/>

second, there is nothing in common between functions of Ossetic <hi rendition="#rend_italic">Fælværa</hi> and Zoroastrian Fravahars. Moreover,
the ancestors of the Ossetians, the Scythians, were alien to
