образования (прош. причастие + <hi rendition="#rend_italic">-æg</hi>) ср. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_cadæg"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_syǧdæg"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_lyst6æg9"><w>lystæg</w></ref>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_cærdæg"/> и др.
Вставка <hi rendition="#rend_italic">n</hi> в дигорском — вторичная, как в <ref type="xr" target="#entry_wasæg"><w>wasængæ</w></ref>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ǧarængæ"/> и др.
Нет основания считать <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kadæg</hi> заимствованным грузинским <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kadagi</hi>
‘проповедник’, ‘прорицатель’, вопреки Штакельбергу (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_MSt."/><biblScope>82</biblScope></bibl>) и Вс. Миллеру
(<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_Miller._Gr."/><biblScope>10</biblScope></bibl>). Грузинское слово само
представляется усвоенным либо из осетинского, либо из пехл. <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kēdig</hi> magician
(<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_BSOS"/><biblScope>IX 84,
91</biblScope></bibl>).%n<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_ОТ"/><biblScope>51</biblScope></bibl>. — <bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_ОЯФ_I"/><biblScope>68, 86</biblScope></bibl>.</etym>
<etym xml:lang="en">Probably it is a derivative of <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kad"/> glory(in the meaning „song of praise“), as A.
<hi rendition="#rend_smallcaps">Schiffner</hi> supposed (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_ОТ"/><biblScope>51</biblScope></bibl>). As for the derivation type (a past
participle + <hi rendition="#rend_italic">-æg</hi>) cf. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_cadæg"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_syǧdæg"/>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_lyst6æg9"><w>lystæg</w></ref>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_cærdæg"/> etc. The insertion of <hi rendition="#rend_italic">n</hi> in Digor is
secondary, as in <ref type="xr" target="#entry_wasæg"><w>wasængæ</w></ref>, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ǧarængæ"/> etc. There is no reason to think that <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kadæg</hi> is
a borrowed Georgian word <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kadagi</hi> preacher, prophet, contrary to
Shtakelberg (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_MSt."/><biblScope>82</biblScope></bibl>) and Ws. Miller (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_Miller._Gr."/><biblScope>10</biblScope></bibl>). It seems that the Georgian word itself
was borrowed either from Ossetic, or from Pahlavi <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kēdig</hi> magician
(<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_BSOS"/><biblScope>IX 84,
