Чередование этих двух формантов, восходящих соответственно к <c>-aka-</c> и <c>-ana-</c>,

свидетельствуется с глубокой древности; ср. скифо-сарматские личные имена <mentioned xml:lang="xsc" extralang="x-sarm"><w>Σατρακης</w></mentioned> и <mentioned xml:lang="xsc" extralang="x-sarm"><w>Ξαρθανος</w></mentioned>, <mentioned xml:lang="xsc" extralang="x-sarm"><w>Στρακος</w></mentioned> и <mentioned xml:lang="xsc" extralang="x-sarm"><w>Στυρανος</w></mentioned>, ос. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_Wyryzmæg"/> и <mentioned xml:lang="pal"><lang/>
