‘достаточный’ наличен один и тот же элемент <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ǧæd</hi>, восходящий к <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d3195e197" xml:id="mentioned_d3195e161" xml:lang="x-oldirn"><lang/>

точному смыслу <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æv</hi>-<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ǧæd</hi>(<hi rendition="#rend_italic">apa-gata</hi>) значит „выход“ (→ „появление на
свет“ → „рождение“). Ср. <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d3195e207" xml:id="mentioned_d3195e171" xml:lang="ps"><lang/>
<w>zar-ɣāla</w><note type="comment" xml:lang="ru"> (из za̧θra-gata:

‘роженица’ (второй элемент <hi rendition="#rend_italic">gata</hi>, как и в осетинском).<note type="footnote" n="1"> PUT NOTE HERE </note> <hi rendition="#rend_smallcaps">Benveniste</hi> (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_BSL"/><biblScope>LII 15</biblScope></bibl>) возводит не к
<hi rendition="#rend_italic">apa</hi>-, а к <hi rendition="#rend_italic">abi-gata</hi>- ‘период’, что также возможно.</etym>

birth, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ræǧæd"/> mature and <ref type="xr" target="#entry_æǧǧæd"/> (from <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æm</hi>-<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ǧæd</hi>) sufficient. This element
traces back to <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d3195e161" xml:id="mentioned_d3195e197" xml:lang="x-oldirn"><lang/>
<w>gata-</w></mentioned>, past participle of the verb <hi rendition="#rend_italic">gam</hi>- to go, to
reach: <hi rendition="#rend_italic">ævǧæd</hi> ← *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">apa-gata</hi>-, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ræǧæd"/>
*<hi rendition="#rend_italic">fra-gata</hi>-, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_æǧǧæd"/> ← *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ham-gata</hi>-. By
exact sense, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">æv</hi>-<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ǧæd</hi>(<hi rendition="#rend_italic">apa-gata</hi>) means exit (→ coming-into-being
birth). Cf. <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d3195e171" xml:id="mentioned_d3195e207" xml:lang="ps"><lang/>
<w>zar-ɣāla</w><note type="comment" xml:lang="en"> (from za̧θra-gata: <bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_Morgenstierne._EVP"/><biblScope>103</biblScope></bibl>)</note></mentioned> puerperal,
woman in childbirth (the second element is <hi rendition="#rend_italic">gata</hi>, like in Ossetic).<note type="footnote" n="1"> PUT NOTE HERE </note> <hi rendition="#rend_smallcaps">Benveniste</hi> (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_BSL"/><biblScope>LII 15</biblScope></bibl>)
trace the word back not to <hi rendition="#rend_italic">apa</hi>-, but to <hi rendition="#rend_italic">abi-gata</hi>- period, which is
also possible.</etym>
