<etym xml:lang="ru">Мы видим здесь „детскую“ вариацию глагола <ref type="xr" target="#entry_sūʒyn"/> ‘гореть’, ‘жечь’ в соответствии со звуковыми нормами
„детской“ речи. Судя по <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4266e205" xml:id="mentioned_d4266e175" xml:lang="os-x-digor"><lang/>
<w>ʒoʒægi</w>
<gloss><q>крессалат</q></gloss></mentioned> (см. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_dūdgæ"/>), существовала параллельная форма *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ʒoʒun</hi>,
которая еще ближе подводит нас к <hi rendition="#rend_italic">soʒun</hi> ‘жечь’. Из староосетинского
(„скифского“) идет, возможно, <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4266e215" xml:id="mentioned_d4266e185" xml:lang="ru"><lang/>
<w>зуд</w></mentioned>, <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4266e220" xml:id="mentioned_d4266e190" xml:lang="ru"><w>зудеть</w></mentioned>,
которое не имеет до сих пор удовлетворительного разъяснения (см.:

<etym xml:lang="en">We see here a “child” version of the verb <ref type="xr" target="#entry_sūʒyn"/> burn, in accordance with the phonetic standards of
“child” speech. Judging by<mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4266e175" xml:id="mentioned_d4266e205" xml:lang="os-x-digor"><lang/>
<w>ʒoʒægi</w>
<gloss><q>garden cress</q></gloss></mentioned> (see <ref type="xr" target="#entry_dūdgæ"/>), there was a parallel form *<hi rendition="#rend_italic">ʒoʒun</hi>, which leads
us to <hi rendition="#rend_italic">soʒun</hi> burn even closer. <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4266e185" xml:id="mentioned_d4266e215" xml:lang="ru"><lang/>
<w>zud</w></mentioned>, <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d4266e190" xml:id="mentioned_d4266e220" xml:lang="ru"><w>zudetʼ</w></mentioned>
which still does not have a suitable explanation, probably comes from Old
Ossetic (Scythian), (see <bibl><author>Louise Wanstrat</author><biblScope xml:lang="en">Beiträge zur

103</biblScope></bibl>).</etym>
