<etym xml:lang="ru">Разлагается на <hi rendition="#rend_italic">faj-nostæ</hi> из <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*pati-snauša-</hi> буквально
„невестка (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">snaoša</hi>) мужа (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">pati</hi>)“. В иронском слово <hi rendition="#rend_italic">nust</hi> отдельно в
значении ‘невестка’ не сохранилось (см. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_ḱynʒ"/>).
Но дигорское <ref type="xr" target="#entry_nostæ"/> бытует до сих пор. Первая
часть <hi rendition="#rend_italic">faj</hi> возводится нами к <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d1255e206" xml:id="mentioned_d1255e158" xml:lang="x-oldirn"><lang/>

<hi rendition="#rend_italic">а</hi> в <hi rendition="#rend_italic">faj</hi> (вместо <hi rendition="#rend_italic">fæj</hi>) — результат композиционного подъема (vṛddhi).

<etym xml:lang="en">It is divided into <hi rendition="#rend_italic">faj-nostæ</hi> from <hi rendition="#rend_italic">*pati-snauša-</hi>
literally daugther-in-law (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">snaoša</hi>) of the husband (<hi rendition="#rend_italic">pati</hi>). In Iron the
separate word <hi rendition="#rend_italic">nust</hi> in the meaning daughter-in-law does not remain (see
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_ḱynʒ"/>). However, Digor <ref type="xr" target="#entry_nostæ"/> is still present. The first part <hi rendition="#rend_italic">faj</hi> is traced
by us back to <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d1255e158" xml:id="mentioned_d1255e206" xml:lang="x-oldirn"><lang/>

tomorrow from <hi rendition="#rend_italic">raǯy-som</hi>, and also such alternations as <ref type="xr" target="#entry_k0yʒ"/> || <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kuj</hi> dog, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_yssæʒ"/> || <ref type="xr" target="#entry_insæj"/> twenty
etc. (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_ОЯФ_I"/><biblScope>374</biblScope></bibl>). The strong vowel <hi rendition="#rend_italic">а</hi> in <hi rendition="#rend_italic">faj</hi>
