<etym xml:lang="ru">Слова <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kʼæbyla</hi> ‘щенок’, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qybyl"/> ‘поросенок’, ‘детеныш’, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qæbūl"/> ‘дитя’,
‘детеныш’ заключают, по-видимому, один корень <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kab-</hi>, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">qab-</hi>, снабженный
уменьшительным формантом <hi rendition="#rend_italic">-yl</hi>, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">-ul</hi>. Этот же корень — в <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kʼæbys"/> ‘щенок’. Надежных иранских соответствий не видно.
Мы имеем, вероятно, дело с каким-то неиндоевропейским отложением, которое можно
распознать и в <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5708e183" xml:id="mentioned_d5708e152" xml:lang="ps"><lang/>
<w>kablai</w>
<gloss><q>молодая газель</q></gloss></mentioned>. С ос. <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kʼæbyla</hi>
сопоставляли и неразъясненное <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5708e191" xml:id="mentioned_d5708e160" xml:lang="ru"><lang/>
<w>кобель</w></mentioned> (<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_Горяев"/></bibl>). — Иранским наследием является ос. <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qæwyn"/> ‘щенок’. См. также <ref type="xr" target="#entry_stæn_1"/>.</etym>
<etym xml:lang="en">The words <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kʼæbyla</hi> puppy, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qybyl"/> piglet, animal's young, <ref type="xr" target="#entry_qæbūl"/> baby, animal's young have, apparently, the same
root <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kab-</hi>, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">qab-</hi>, augmented by a diminutive formant <hi rendition="#rend_italic">-yl</hi>, <hi rendition="#rend_italic">-ul</hi>. The
same stem is in <ref type="xr" target="#entry_kʼæbys"/> puppy. There are no
reliable Iranian cognates. Probably, we are dealing with some non-Indo-European
sediment, which can be seen in <mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5708e152" xml:id="mentioned_d5708e183" xml:lang="ps"><lang/>
<w>kablai</w>
<gloss><q>young gazelle</q></gloss></mentioned> as well. The unexplained
<mentioned corresp="#mentioned_d5708e160" xml:id="mentioned_d5708e191" xml:lang="ru"><lang/>
<w>kobelʼ</w> <gloss><q>male dog</q></gloss></mentioned> was also compared with Ossetic <hi rendition="#rend_italic">kʼæbyla</hi>
(<bibl><ref type="bibl" target="#ref_Горяев"/></bibl>). — The Ossetic
<ref type="xr" target="#entry_qæwyn"/> puppy is of Iranian origin. See
